As a part of my Summer of Love Anniversary Series, I wanted to investigate whether or not we ARE STILL crazy after all these years? Tune in to find out! In this deep interview with Chip, we explore the impact of the "free love" mentality of the 60’s and it’s effect on society today. WHEN I'M DRUNK…I WRITE SONGS.

Every moment spent with beer is like hell.

What you could feel is a shitfull of pain.

Why tears are coming out whenever I'm starting to say something about guys.

Words don't last but feelings does.

Still in grief, still all left.

Dummies make us happy but why ain't I.

Been through the wilderness like Madonna said so.

Still a virgin in love but sex I ain't so.

Happy to those who cherish and sadness to those who doesn't.

Feeling blue, feeling glued to all your lie full of memories.

Stick your tongue out I stick mine out, but where should our hearts be at?

Live with vanity, live with strategy, should that be our energy.

Shouldn't it be love, shouldn't it be feelings?

Why couldn't it work even if we are hell miles apart.

I know it doesn't stick, I know it doesn't even last.

But couldn't it be controlled till our last days fall apart.

A song for godamn jerks who thought they're the last thing on earth! Hell to you!

Coppola delivers dreamy 'Somewhere'

Writer/director Sophia Coppola (daughter of Francis) takes great interest in behavior over words, mood over movement.

She won an Oscar for her screenplay for “Lost in Translation,” a tonal work that followed an actor drifting through the ether of being a celebrity.

Coppola treads similar ground in her latest, “Somewhere.” The film’s limited release brings it to Wichita today after first making a splash on the festival circuit (it won the Golden Lion Award for best picture at the 2010 Venice International Film Festival).

'Fighter,' 'Hereafter' out on Blu-ray

A true boxing story, "The Fighter," and a speculative piece about life after death, "Hereafter," lead this week's slender list of Blu-ray releases.

"The Fighter" (Paramount, 2010, $29.99) stars Mark Wahlberg as Irish boxer Micky Ward, who against all odds triumphs in the ring. The victory proves to be just the event to unite his fractured family and bring pride to his blue-collar hometown.

Director David O. Russell proves once again that the sport of boxing can prove to be compelling material for the movies. It also helps that Russell handles the scenes in the ring with great savvy. They're as realistic as anything that has gone before.

'King's Speech' wins four Oscars

LOS ANGELES —"The King's Speech" was crowned best picture Sunday, leading as expected with four Academy Awards while predictable favorites claimed acting honors.

Colin Firth as stammering British ruler George VI in "The King's Speech" earned the best-actor Oscar, while Natalie Portman won best actress as a delusional ballerina in "Black Swan."

The boxing drama "The Fighter" claimed both supporting-acting honors, for Christian Bale as a boxer-turned-drug-abuser and Melissa Leo as a boxing clan's domineering matriarch.

Bardem gives 'Biutiful' performance in bleak film

Writer/director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s films are preoccupied with studying the human condition in an adverse state, whether from external forces (the scared nanny stuck in Mexico in “Babel”) or internal ones (the mourning mother who emotionally disintegrates before our eyes in “21 Grams”).

His films are usually long, full of symbolism and pretty heavy stuff. His newest, “Biutiful,” is no exception (the film was an Oscar nominee for best foreign language film — its limited release brings it to Wichita today).

But while Inarritu’s previous work explored how a single action changed another, usually jumping back and forth in timelines or juggling multiple character arcs, “Biutiful” is perhaps his most straightforward narrative yet. It mostly focuses on one character in a mostly linear fashion. Mostly.

Life's quiet challenges at the heart of 'Another Year'

The stately, mature British import “Another Year” is low on incident but heavy on personality, with fully realized characters at its core.

It’s typical of writer/director Mike Leigh, whose films tend to marvel at the small things in our everyday lives (“Secrets and Lies,” “Happy-Go-Lucky”).

Here, we visit middle-aged married couple Tom (Jim Broadbent) and Gerri (Ruth Sheen) during each season over the course of one year of their lives. The story rarely leaves their home, as we discover that they’re the happy, sturdy anchor to a group of insecure friends and relatives around them.

'Gnomeo & Juliet' a daft retelling of Shakespeare's tale

"Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair Verona, where we lay our scene. From ancient grudge break to new mutiny …"

And at about this point the gnome reciting the prologue to "Romeo and Juliet" is yanked off stage by a big Bugs Bunny hook. For this is no epic tale of woe, this romance of Juliet and her Gnomeo. Even if "the story you are about to see has been told before. A lot." You've never seen it told like this.

"Gnomeo & Juliet" is a daft and generally deft British animated retelling of the star-crossed romance set in adjacent English backyard gardens and set to the music of Elton John (he and his Rocket Films produced it). And if it's not an unerringly faithful adaptation of Shakespeare's play, it still manages enough wit and charm to come off.

With poor plot, Giamatti shines in 'Barney's Version'

Paul Giamatti is a masterful actor, one who has made playing the lovable loser (as in “Sideways”) an art form.

He’s quite good in the drama “Barney’s Version” as a man with no redeeming characteristics. He’s selfish, rude, crude and cares more about being around booze than people.

But while Giamatti is typically stellar, the story lets him down. Based on the novel by Mordecai Richler, Michael Konyves’ script doesn’t give us any reason to care about — much less like — Barney. We almost despise him.

'Battle: L.A.' leads box office

NEW YORK — Hollywood would like to skip spring and head straight to summer.

The summer-style blockbuster "Battle: Los Angeles" performed like one at the box office, opening to a strong debut of $36 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The film stars Aaron Eckhart as a veteran soldier leading a platoon of Marines in combat against invading aliens.

For Columbia Pictures and Sony, the sci-fi action film recalls its 2009 Oscar-nominated hit, "District 9." "Battle: Los Angeles" hasn't received nearly as good reviews, but it benefited from a 68 percent male audience and a very successful marketing campaign.

TSGS 011: Conscious Kink: Debunking BDSM Part 2 of 2
In this interview, Beth Crittenden interviews Cleo Dubois, BDSM Educator, ritualist and founder of the Academy of SM Arts. BDSM is a path that allows individuals and couples to embrace creativity, sensuality, spirituality, and fantasy, and supports the breaking free from the rigid cultural stance on sexuality. Cleo shares frankly and clearly about everything from safety and negotiation to the freedom and deepening that happens from this type of play. Safe, Sane and Consensual BDSM brings together the spiritual with the erotic and allows a space for individuals and couples to fully express their sensuality and fantasy life. There is no one better to learn from than Cleo Dubois, who has been teaching since the late 1980s when the scene just began to get organized! Cleo also talks us through a hot collar ritual, and provides us an idea of a common fantasy between a couple that will, if you are honest with yourself, probably touch a fantasy you have had at one time or another. You will come away with a desire to test your own boundaries and perhaps redefine what is possible in your life. Justin time

A heartfelt thank-you from 16-year-old singer Justin Bieber to his millions of fans, and an equally sincere plea for them not to forget him when the next doe-eyed cutie-pie rolls around, the concert film "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" manages the neat trick of making a mass-marketed pop act seem like the kid next door. No matter how far away he looks on that stage, Bieber belongs to you, and you and you.

Though it's essentially one long advertisement, "Never Say Never" doesn't pretend to be anything else. Directed by Jon M. Chu (the "Step Up" dance-flick franchise), the movie draws a rough narrative arc by following Bieber on his 2010 tour leading up to a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden.

There is some ginned-up drama — will Justin's vocal cords recover in time for the Garden? OMG! —but mostly it's a fans' wish list of backstage banter, adorable baby photos and the occasional glimpse of Bieber's bare torso.

JFW 067: Alissa Kriteman, Host of Just for Women: 3 Powerful Keys to Making 2009 Outrageously Successful!
In this episode I take the liberty to share with you three very powerful keys that will support you in living a year filled with joy, success and abundance. These are keys that I adhere to, which serve me deeply, so I wanted to start 2009 by offering these jewels to you!The first key is Meditation. I cover a few, basic types of meditation to show that the process need not be elaborate, yet it is important to start. I cover how to meditate (posture and breath) and why meditation can be an important part of your successful, abundant life. The next key to an outrageously successful year is to create a Visualization Board – now! The power of the visualization board is that it acts like the most powerful magnet you can imagine, drawing to you all the dreams, desires, goals and accomplishments you wish to experience in the year to come. I give a few real-life examples of the amazing power these Vision Boards (collages) can have in a person’s life – myself included!I wrap up with some important points to remember about our needs. I have been noticing lately that if my needs are not getting met (by myself, my lover or others), it is extremely difficult to create a happy, thriving life. We must learn to identify and take charge of getting our needs met not only for ourselves, but for the ones we love and the legacy of love and joy we will leave our in our wake when our needs are being identified and fulfilled!
