JFW 081: Newt Bailey, Communications Expert: How to Tell Him What You Need
In this interview I learned more about how much I try to run my own agenda, forget my needs and don't really listen when I am in conversations (especially when I am triggered by my lover) than I have talking with any other communications expert. Newt Bailey, Master Communications Expert, Mediator, Facilitator and Coach brings a whole new light to communication. It is so radically loving it is almost weird. What Newt offers is that we actually give a care about other people and what they have to say, what they need, what they are trying to express to us instead of us trying to get our own point across. He teaches us how to NEVER give up on our own needs and be a stand that EVERYONE gets what they need in a conversation. He brings a rare sense of calm and peace to conversing that I have not experienced before that gives me a renewed sense of hope that I can talk with even my FAMILY and have the experience be one of love and sustained connection. What Newt helps us see is that we really can stay in love, remain in connection AND be boldly transparent with people if we are willing, and what an extraordinary experience that can provide. He offers a communication process that will take practice:1) Observe the situation without judgment2) Tap into what you are feeling3) Communicate any needs you have4) Make a request or ask the person how they feel about what you have juts shared.I have to say, using this process is changing my life! Not only am I more in touch with myself and what *I* need, I am also conscious of what the other person might be needing that they might not even be aware of. Learning to communicate in this way feels very mature and powerful and totally VULNERABLE. Try it on!

JFW 021: "Falling In Love vs. Opening To Love - Staying Awake after the First Hot Date" with Francesca Gentille
In this interview Alissa talks with relationship expert and fellow Personal Life Media host (Sex: Tantra and Kama Sutra), Francesca Gentille about the differences between knowing whether you are Falling In Love or Opening to Love. There is actually a profound distinction! Francesca describes to us the disillusionment of Falling in Love and the warning signs that you are in fact FALLING. Yes, yes we have all been there, "crazy in love" and it is funny to look back and see the warning signs in hindsight! In segment two we talk about Opening to Love and how to maintain our composure when we meet a man we are really digging. She encourages us to seek out books, courses and online information about how to stay empowered and continue to love and honor ourselves when we meet the "Man of our dreams."

JFW 088: Alissa Kriteman on Transforming Regret and Resentment
I really appreciate when listeners write in to share their stories or ask for guidance on particular situations regarding dating, relationships and sex. Therefore, I make a point to have those questions and concerns answered on the show.In this episode, it is me who offers insight to audience members on how to communicate truth with love using the "Acknowledgment Sandwich." This is a fantastic communication technique that allows you to be fully expressed or make requests while also honoring the person you are speaking to. Tune in and hear how it can work for you in your life!In the second segment I offer my insight to an audience member who asks for support in "how to transform resentment and anger." Here I offer a powerful tool you can use with another person to clear congested emotion called the "Withhold Session." When you do a Withhold Session, you allow yourself to blow off steam and get to the heart of what it is you want to say. Mostly our bottled up emotions are getting in the way of the love we desire to express. This technique will help you move through high emotion and get back to calm, centered, clarity.Stay tuned for more information on the launch of my internet product: Masterful Techniques for Fear and Anxiety Relief at www.masterfultechniques.com

JFW 011: "Sexy, Single Motherhood - A Growing Trend" with Rachel Sarah
In this interview Alissa interviews a bold and courageous thirty-five year old woman, Rachel Sarah who has been raising her daughter, without a husband, since Mae was born. Single motherhood is a growing trend among women and we get the inside track on how that kind of choice affects a woman’s life. No longer waiting to find “Mr. Right” women are taking charge of their lives and their desire to have children in very non-traditional ways. We talk with Rachel about her decision to have a baby with a man she knew wasn’t very stable and all that she has learned on her journey as a woman and a mother thus far. We talk about raising a “bi-racial” baby, the importance of sisterhood, the challenges of being single and raising a child, the benefits of being a single mother, and we get Rachel’s perspective on this growing trend called Lovership, that bridges the gap between dating and long-term relationships. Rachel also talks about research findings stating children who come from single-parent homes thrive just as well as academically as children in two-parent homes…interesting. And in some cases, children in unhealthy two-parent homes need more assistance and attention. In the last segment we get the benefit of hearing a few words from Rachel’s beautiful daughter Mae about life with her mom. A poignant and important interview to share with women, I hope all women everywhere will be inspired rise above social norms, societal judgment and reflexive prejudice to make choices they deem important as modern, dynamic women.
